Intergovernmental Agreement on the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games between the Commonwealth of Australia and the Queensland Government

The Intergovernmental Agreement on the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Games) outlines the framework for the Australian Government’s enduring partnership with the Queensland Government to deliver key projects and initiatives in support of a successful Games.

It helps ensure the roles of both governments are fair and proportionate to their investment, and long-term legacy outcomes for the community are achieved.

The Intergovernmental Agreement first came into effect on 17 February 2023, and was updated on 19 August 2025 to reflect a refined project list and streamlined governance arrangements set out in the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games Arrangement Act 2021.
