National Cabinet is a forum for the Prime Minister, Premiers and Chief Ministers to meet and work collaboratively.
National Cabinet was established on 13 March 2020 and is chaired by the Prime Minister. The Commonwealth and state and territory governments individually have flexibility to determine the best way to achieve any agreed outcomes made by National Cabinet in their jurisdiction.
A representative of Local Government is invited to meet with National Cabinet once each year.
On 30 September 2022, National Cabinet agreed to a range of recommendations put forward by First Secretaries including a list of National Cabinet priorities (PDF 138 KB).
