National Cabinet met in Brisbane today to agree a national approach to a range of priorities for Australians, including making healthcare more accessible and affordable and better planning to ensure communities thrive as they grow.

At National Cabinet on 28 April 2023, First Ministers endorsed a package of Budget measures that respond to the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce report. These measures will work to build the foundations of reform to primary care in Australia.
Independent Review of Overseas Health Practitioner Regulatory Settings – Interim Report
Meeting outcome
At National Cabinet on the 28 April 2023, First Ministers re-committed to Healthcare reform being the top priority for National Cabinet in 2023. First Ministers endorsed the Interim Report, including its key reform priorities, and have asked Health Ministers to report back to National Cabinet with a full-costed implementation plan in mid 2023.
